Default Yamaha g9 ignition

Hey guys just picked up a g9 ? And has no ignition/key switch how can I try and start this without one ??

Best to just buy or borrow one. Easy to blow out something crossing the wrong wires. Although, it is a 4 cycle right? So fewer wires then the G1 on the key switch?

Yes it only has 4 wired and 4 cycle

Okay that shouldn't be too hard then. The switch fits g2, g8, g9, and g11. Number 10 on the diagram should be your ignition switch and the red wire connected to the brown wire should turn on the ignition.

It is also possible you have a g14 and if so, here is the diagram for that one. Ignition switch is in the same place in the diagram (center left) and is #5

Thank u, and it’s definitely a g9 I believe it has the aluminum support going around the top of the front plastics I’ll try jumping those 2 wires in a few to see if it does anything
