Cart won't go.
I purchased a battery meter for my 2005 Ezgo TXT cart sometime ago. I just got around to attempting to install it. I was trying to wire it into the ignition key. I had a bare wire exposed and it made contact with the frame around the mounting panel and shorted. I thought the battery meter was burnt up, but then I made up wires and ran it straight off the battery pack and it still works. My problem now is that the cart won't move. I was wondering if I shorted out the ignition switch, F & R switch or something else. I guess I need help in how to test the ignition switch and the F & R switch. Also any suggestions on what it could be. Thanks in advance.

You didn't mention checking your fuse?

Re: Cart won't go.
I would leave your voltmeter hooked up directly to your battery. I hope you got a digital (not bars). That way, you can see the condition of your batteries at a glance. They do not use enough power to make any difference to your battery voltage. I have developed habit of glancing at the meter every time I walk near the cart and it tells me everything is OK or I need to put on charger for a while.
Best $12 I have spent. |

Yes, I am going to leave it hooked direct, for the reason that you mentioned.

Re: Cart won't go.
Check fuses as others have suggested. Also remember the frame cannot be used as a ground on golf carts.

Re: Cart won't go.
Ok, I have checked the main fuse it is good, I have switched out ignition switch, F & R switch, pedal switch. Golf cart is still not going. The controller is not getting power. I hooked up my laptop to the controller and the signal lights came on. It has a Alltrax XCT controller on it. Could the solenoid be bad or shorted out? Any help please.

Re: Cart won't go.
Don't buy the bypass wire.. look for the Buggiesgonewild thread after you type it in and it will tell you how to do it.
