Default 2001 Club car DS disc brakes wanted

I have a 2001 Club Car DS with an alltrax 500amp controller and a PQ Rattlesnake motor with every associated mod. It has a 6" lift with 23" tires and 12" rims and a back seat installed. It goes 33mph with 2 adults, and I'd like it to stop better. I see front disc brake and rear disc brake kits and I'm wondering which is better. I'm assuming front are better. Also, what is a good kit and where can I find one. It seems everything that I see is out of stock. Thanks for any help!

They claim 70% of the braking is done with the front brakes.

So going from no brakes to disc brakes in the front will cut your stopping distance at least in half! If you have ever panic stopped a golf cart with only rear brakes, you know that.

So who makes/sells the kits?

I have an Allsports lift kit and can’t find anyone that sells front brakes for this. Only Jakes. Would really like to add them to but nothing yet.

That's the problem that I'm having. I have an SGC lift and I'd rather not have to spend another $400 on top of the brake kit to make it work. I contacted SGC to see if they have anything.

No fun at all sliding sideways halfway through a intersection barely missing oncoming traffic.

And another thing. If that isn't a Jake's lift on your cart it will be impossible to find a PnP lift kit to fit it. In order to get one to fit on a non Jake's lift it will need machine shop work to install the caliper holders on your axles. Here is a picture of what needed to be done. The spindle on the left is the original Jake's. They had to cut the caliper holder off the Jake's and reweld it to the Allsport spindle on the right. The other picture is the finished product.

As you already know, it doesn't matter how fast you can go you still have to stop! I added Jake's front disc brakes to my EZGO and am glad I did. Stops much better and straighter than just rear drum brakes alone. My cart is not lifted so I don't have the installation issue you have but I would definitely recommend the Jake's kit if you can get one to work. Easy to install and reliable so far. Only installation issue I had was the hole where the tie rod connects was not exactly round and tie rod wouldn't fit. Jake's did send me new spindle arms at no charge.
