rose88;.............micro switch seems to be going on/off as it should., the throttle cable looks ok to me,,, (dont really know what adjustments to look for), its going , as far as i can tell, to full on and full off positions.
i will play with it tomorrow, if its not too cold here.lol

Ok back off on the 10mm nuts going into the black box and run the cable in a couple of turns and try it, and adjust from there. May or May not be the problem?

if the above suggestions don't help you might want to consider the posibility of carbon deposits on the crown of the cylinder head or on the valves. Carbon will get red hot and provide a source of ignition even when then the ignition is off. Simply shutting down doesn't affect this phenomenon since the red hot carbon is now acting as the spark plug and providing a source of ignition until it cools. Back in the day, this was called pre-ignition or pinking and was largely cured with modern day computer controlled fuel injection and monitoring systems that self adjust to the variables of the environment such as elevations etc. Sadly, these carts enjoy no such technical wizardry and instead rely on the "Old school" method of operation, ie, a simple source of fuel and air and a spark at a given time with no thought to the compensation of outside parameters. You might try the "Italian tune up" which involves running the engine on high octane fuel and blasting around at full throttle for a few minutes or you might consider a fuel additive such as Sea Foam. The addition of Diesel fuel is another well established practice or you may wish to get sensible and simply pull the head and clean up all the carbon deposits with a blunt scraper. All the above work, it's for you to decide which way to go.

But again... It wasn't my idea, I just passed it on!

I agree that most likely it's preignition, I've always used "premium" fuel in my cart, (no ethanol is preferred)
premixed with the proper amount of Sea Foam, and I've never had a problem!

Another suggestion, (just in case it hasn't been done lately) Replace your spark plug!

thanks guys....
i took the plug out, it is as clean as a whistle, no evidence of carbon on the plug, at least.
i have added a fuel conditioner, next gas will be hi-octane to give it a try..
I dont think i will remove the head, being down in florida, i have no tools with me and did not bring my 24 x 32 shop.......lol
