Re: High octane fuel good to use?
Thanks for the replies everyone!
I can mix 87 octane with the 94 or extract the 94 (my Saab likes 94) and use only 87. I will re-gap the plug to 0.030 and try that. Cheers eh! |

Re: High octane fuel good to use?
With the ethanol,a little higher octane doesnt hurt, since the effective octane and btu of the gas is lower.Briggs recommends 91and ethanol-treatment in all their engines since the ethanol mess started.

Re: High octane fuel good to use?
I run 91 non-ethanol in all my small engine stuff. Just seems to be cleaner fuel and haven't had carb issues for years.. I know its over kill but works for me.

Re: High octane fuel good to use?
We have it here in WV at certain stations. It's usually 90 octane. It's the only thing to use in small engines so they don't gunk up. My 93 S10 runs like total CRAP on fuel with ethanol, but she sure does like the 90 pure stuff.

Re: High octane fuel good to use?
^ cool site ^
I guess I've been lucky, I run 87 in all my power equipment, and have never had a problem. I put Stabil in the tanks over the winter... Most gas stations around me say "contains up to 10% ethanol" on the pumps... |

Re: High octane fuel good to use?
I like 100LL, just for the fact that I can use it in my yard equipment and not worry about it gunking up-- plus it smells great out the exhaust pipe.
