Unhappy Stupid me

OK I got a heavy duty solenoid for my 36v series medalist, was no markings on it as to how to wire so I took a guess, (wrong) made a spark and fried the little diode thing. so put the other one back on and I have nothing, solenoid will click if you depress pedal slowly, got 38v going to solenoid but not coming out when pedal is depressed, so I don't WTF I done, any suggestions? Thanks

You put the diode on backwards. In a TXT this almost always fries the pedal box micro switch.
Okay Medalist or TXT see below

I have also seen it fry the reed switch in the charge port (easily bypassed for testing). If you have OEM energy meter in the dash, and it now never works, the reed switch is likely the problem. Info to help diagnose if you have factory energy meter, if the pedal switch is bad the energy meter will still work (key on, in gear), if the reed switch is bad, energy meter no work.

I've done the SAME EXACT thing before. Years ago! Only I didnt have a forum to ask and had to pay someone else to fix it. Expensive mistake.
