99' starts but will not move
I have just found your site and WOW am I gonna have fun! Before I start to further modify my cart I need to get it running again. My first question: Suddenly out of the blue my cart stopped moving. I am not sure what would cause this. It seems to run fine but will not move. I am not a mechanic so please keep your explanations simple. I look forward to hearing from you all soon!
Thanks RPX |

Re: 99' starts but will not move
Probably going to need a little more info but the first thing I would check is the shift cable to make sure it is actually shifting the trans. It could be broken inside or not connected somewhere. If it just quit all of a sudden.

Re: 99' starts but will not move
Thank you all in advance for your help with this. When I say it is "running" what I mean is that when I press the gas pedal you can hear the motor and when I lift the seat to look I can see the "pump turning but the belt seems to be sliping and not engaging.
I hope that makes sense. RPX |

Re: 99' starts but will not move
What the guys above are asking is; Is it the starter that's spinning the motor or is the motor firing up ? If the motor is firing properly it should rev up, if it isn't revving we need to go from there.

Re: 99' starts but will not move
the belt will spin as motor is cranking over but will not engage until motor starts and enging revs up some so yes it makes sense..................is there any way you can check it for spark? do you have a spark tester or can you get one? than we can eliminate a few things..........................
