New clutch springs no top end?
Hello all, I just installed new springs in both my primary and secondary clutches and now my cart lost a lot of top speed. I have a 2001 EZ GO workhorse with a 295 robin engine. I installed the clutch spring combo from Buggies Unlimited to help with bottom end power and now I have lots of low end but lost a lot of speed. It seems like the primary clutch doesn't have enough power to open the secondary clutch to allow the cart to get in to high gear. I have ran the cart on jack stands and the belt won't drop all the way down like it used to. The belt is about two years old but looks like it's still in good shape. I don't need my cart to go crazy fast fast but it used to go about 24mph and now I'm down to arround 14 to 16mph. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: New clutch springs no top end?
Perhaps too much prewrap on the secondary?

Re: New clutch springs no top end?
The rotational pressure by the spring on the
movable sheave is what causes the driven to resist opening. |
