Default Upgrade controller or speed chip?

I've heard that you never want to lift a PDS as the controller will go bad. Others have said it will be fine as long as you don't add the speed chip. A couple of neighbors have non lifted PDS models with the freedom chip and they go much faster than before. So I'm thinking about getting the chip for $10 and if it burns up the controller, I now have a good excuse to get a new, more powerful one. And if it is that simple, meaning it won't burn something else up, then what is the best controller for the money? 20-22mph would be fast enough for me. Thoughts?

Also, I was thinking of getting the variable chip that Andy4639 makes, but I can't figure out how to send him a message.

Andy's "chip" is a wire harness and switches. I just installed it on my cart on Sunday. Took about an hour and a half including moving the run/tow switch to my dash. Works great.

The harness is $65.00 shipped to your door. I build each one myself. I can make each harness per the costumer if they are willing to pay a little more for it. I try and give as much leadway as I can on the length of wire so the switches can be mounted any where on the dash. Of all the harnesses I have made only one person has responded back with feed back on it. Which I apperciate the feed back I will add a little more length to them in the future.
G-Daddy,
thanks I hope it is everything you hoped it be. I know mine has been great.
