Default '85 or '87 Yamaha Electric Golf Cart Batteries

I just bought an old electric golf cart from a friend and he said that I will need to replace the batteries. I got the wiring diagram from this thread so I know that I need 6 - 6V Batteries. Does anybody know of a cheap place where I can get these. I was told it's gonna cost around $300 to get new ones. That plus the $100 I paid for it isn't bad though...I will also need a roof if anybody knows where I can get one of those too.

If you can get a set of(6) 6 volt deep cycle batteries for 300.00..."JUMP ON IT"! The price of lead has skyrocketed and batteries keep going up. Call your nearest Yamaha dealer and ask him if he has any used tops and frame work for your G2 (I think you said in a earlier post you had a G2) Good luck Dave

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, after doing more research there is no way it's gonna cost $300 for new batteries. I've shopped around and the cheapest ones I can find are from Farm & Fleet for $77. So I think I'm just going to spend the extra money and get the Trojan ones because I've read that they're the best.
