Help to ID this clutch assembly
We have almost completely stripped this EZ GO, and almost time to put it back together. It would be nice to gain some more power but this also has to be reliable. When it was running it was a little gutless but did ok, we found some worn out steering stuff also.
After reading all the clutch info here I am wondering what clutch we have and if that would be a good upgrade for this cart. Keep in mind this cart will mostly be just driving people around the pits but it would be nice to be able to push the race car to the starting line also. Do you guys know what clutch this is? |

Re: Help to ID this clutch assembly
Front clutch is a Comet, very tuneable, a good clutch. Rear is a Stock ezgo unit (can also be tuned with a spring swap).

Re: Help to ID this clutch assembly
This cart has a 20hp Vanguard. Any tips on what clutch setup to use with it? Specific tuning? I am new to this but did have a jr dragster for my daughter a few years ago.

Re: Help to ID this clutch assembly
Use the clutches that are on it. Pull the primary clutch apart and see what pucks and spring are in it. Also, open the secondary and see what spring is in it, and how it is set.

Re: Help to ID this clutch assembly
If you have a race car you can wrench. I found Olaf Aaen has a very good
book about CVT (constant variable speed) transmissions. Google or serch Aaen and paw around, there are copies on line so you don't have to buy it. |
