97 txt ezgo throttle question
I just purchased a 97 ezgo txt yesterday and I put a new battery in it today. I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the gas pedal so that you can drive it at a nice slow pace. Right now it wants to go almost as fast as it can when you are barely on the gas. Any help would be appreciated. I'm including a picture of the engine compartment so you can see what I'm seeing to try to help me. Thanks

Re: 97 txt ezgo throttle question
As I remember on my 97 I once had, the linkage running across the drivers side end of the motor has to have a little slack in it. It's in two pieces with a little flexible cable in the middle?, make sure it has a little droop to it.

Re: 97 txt ezgo throttle question
ahh.. here you are..
Yours looks like a different set up, I was taking about the bottom hard linkage, like I said mine was in two pieces. I would try pulling that one off and adjusting it so it just slips on with out moving the levers, take notice of where it is now so you can go back incase that don't work. |

Re: 97 txt ezgo throttle question
thanks for the info. i checked it out and got it running smoothly. Now im finding that every once in a while it will back fire. Im going to replace the spark plugs but im wondering if there is something else i should look at as well.

Re: 97 txt ezgo throttle question
Back firing problem is caused by the throttle plate in the carburetor not closing all the way when you let up on the gas peddle.
