Ok, this isn't my cart, or my battery choice. My neighbor got this cart for his dad cheap, the old lead acids were boiled dry. He bought this battery off Amazon, dropped it in, then couldn't get the cart to drive. I had never worked on a Yamaha before, or a FSIP controller (51-FX302G027), or the weird voltage reducer (It's 16.8-13.6 step-down, can't find it on the internet but Sure Power 2112). I have encountered the motor before (AM&D DG1-4033). I offered to help because I was tired of staring at spreadsheets that day...

Some previous owner really hacked the wiring on this. Mismatched colors, vampire taps, ignition switch bypassed...
Once I figured out the ignition issue I could reset the controller with the tow/run switch key switch dance. That allowed it to start driving, and after a little jerking it seemed to learn and drove smoothly. That's as far as I've gotten. Owner is a handy dude who is good at 12V wiring so he may just finish it and rewire the whole thing.

The battery is super easy install. I would have gone with busbars, but the studs are deep enough for the charger and 12V step down to also fit. The BMS is a standard Xiaoxiang smart unit, but I don't hear a contactor inside when switching the battery on and off so I wouldn't use this on a lifted or high-powered cart, or in a steep hilly area. I also don't see any battery heater in here, so don't charge it below freezing!

Overall for the price, it's pretty good quality. The included charger is standard amazon variety, but has good heatfins and a fan, and uses Anderson connectors.

Were it my cart, I would most likely put a base in the battery compartment, upsize my motor wires, and reroute wiring and components to have an underseat storage area, as well as redo the 12V wiring.

I read your post carefully, this battery does not come with a heater, so it can't be charged below 0°.
The heater is easy to break, so we didn't install it.
We use sunwoda brand A-grade battery cell, 2C discharge, the peak value can reach 3C.
Our BMS choose JBD brand, continuous discharge 200A peak 300A (30S) output are no problem.

Good to hear from you Pinky, you responding like this has instantly moved this battery to the top of my recommendations for people who are wanting one of the budget brands!

I do a lot of lithium teardowns and building, mainly for fun and for my students to learn, a little for side work. I will say the metal case is great for its ability to open and adjust cell balances if needed! The plastic case is less DIY friendly, but that's a budget tradeoff (and nice to not worry about conductivity).
