G9? Replacing stock air box with K&N?
What do you guys do with the crank case hose that dumps into the factory air box on the G9. My K&N came in today and I was wondering what to do about the crank case hose?
Thanks David |

Put a fuel filter somewhere in the line (make sure the arrow on the filter points to the outside), and run the other end of the hose down and out the side/back.

Spriddle,
I think I am with you on what you are saying. Just to be sure I don't screw up, do you have a picture or part number for the size filter I need? |

I didn't use a filter, just ran the hose down and use a zip tie to hold it.

This is the type I use. Just be sure not to install it backwards because air will not flow through it and pressure will build up causing the oil filler cap to blow off. |

mphillip,
I hope that was not your cart in the picture. That could make for a real bad day. Just to make 100% on the filter for the crank case. The arrow should point away from the motor toward the end of the hose? Correct? I just got back from the parts store and I will be putting it on in a few minutes. Just as soon as I grease the clutches. Thanks again, David |

Right. The engine should be able to push air through it.
I actually plugged off the vent one time on the valve cover just to see. It blew the oil filler cap about 25 feet into the air after pressure built up and sounded like a small shotgun. |
