Default Cart will not move unless pushed.

I have a 2007 48 volt golf cart. When I press the gas pedal nothing happened. The cart will not move. all battery are good. Solenoid will click but nothing happened. And when it does go after the push, it will surge. Like it loses power for a second and then will go again, over and over again.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin...
I don't have any idea how to help you but I can certainly appreciate the 'not move unless pushed' remark.

Be patient... there will be one of the 'sparkies' along to provide help.

I would help if you posted a little more info:
1. Is this a stock Yamaha or has it been upgraded?
2. The type of charging system in use
3. Is this a recent problem on a cart you've had or a 'new to you cart' that you have short history with

This is a stock cart. I’ve had it 6 months and this probably just started.
Not sure as far as the charging system. It has the factory Yamaha charger.

Thank you for the reply.

Your cart has bad motor brushes...hit the motor cap with a hammer...it will move fine for a moment afterwards which will confirm this...

Thank you. I will try this out. I figured it might have had something to do with the tires I put on it. They are 27” tires and 12” rim.

27" tall tires? Might as well take the stock motor & motor controller off right now & toss em in the shed, they are both useless for 27" tall tires.

Is it possible to put the new brushes in backwards? I “think” I put the new ones in the same way the old came out but when I put it in forward it goes backwards and Vice versa? The cables to the motor are correct I know that for sure.
