Default Rejetting with stock muffler

Can I get a little more hp by gutting the air box and rejetting but not changing the stock muffler? I am thinking about stepping up to a taller rear tire the 22X10 for a little more rollout but will need a bit more power to turn them. I don't want to increase the exaust noise since I use it in campgrounds. I have turned it up and it will hit the rev limiter on flat ground but slows on inclines.

You'll get a little, but I would go with a k&n type air filter.

Just install the K&N on the stock carb? Any idea what size jet would be best with this setup?
