Default 48 volt club car charger how do I test it.

I have a 48 volt club car charger I need to test it to see if it is working. I plugged it in and doesn't turn on. The golf cart is not dead the cart does go forward and back. I need to isolate the problem is it the charger or the golf cart.

If you have a voltmeter you can test the pack voltage. Check the inline fuse behind the cart's recepticle. Or if no tools available, you can simply try it on another cart and the other cast's charger on yours.

I read somewhere on buggies to bypass the yellow fuse holder and send that wire to negative side of battery #6 if it worked your computer is bad, I tried this and the golf cart is now charging. My new question is can I just wire that fuse to the #6 negative side and eliminate the computer, I know I will have to watch the charger as it may not shut off automaticaly. Any help would be appreciated.

kelsa, please note this is the gasser section, not the spark section for cc. you might get better answers by asking in that section, though most check both sections.

You can bypass the computer with that method just to get your pack volts up to kick the charger on.
You need to have at least 28volts in the pack for the charger to kick on, What is your pack volts?
