lift question
I have an 05 gasser with a four inch frame-cut lift. I am wanting to add a four or six inch a-arm lift on top of the other one. My question is will there be any other mods that i will run into? I have heard that the motor angle will have to be changed but dont know if that is true. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: lift question
I have been pondering the same thing. Most people say to run extra oil, and a few have modified the engine mount to keep it at the same angle. I have a carryall that was lifted from the factory I was told with the frame chop method. Currently running 22's but looking for some taller tires/wheels. What are you thinking of running once the additional lift is on?

Re: lift question

Re: lift question
Thats what I would like.......curious if the 4 inches of extra lift would be enough....... I would think so, since I currently have 22's and 25's are only three inches taller, but hey......simple math doesn't always work! LOL

A 4" Z lift with 3" Jakes spindles, and 25" tires.... Plenty tall, and fun to ride! and yes... there are some addl. mods that I've done that work well! Spend some time reading... You'll learn alot! |

Re: lift question
Never run extra oil in your engine..... drop the front end of the cradle to keep the tilt to acceptable levels instead. Enjoy. And listen to the Lockman on this one

Re: lift question
Maybe should start a new thread for this, but since Scotty and Lockman are already here and listening.....LOL.......I have my clutches at CPP right now ( hopefully on the way home to daddy! ) and have also adjusted the governor to get some additional speed. After another 3 or 4 inches of lift and some 25's, what would be the proverbial "next step" ? Always wanting more -

Re: lift question
When I went from 22's to the 25's, it jumped my top speed up at least another 2-3 mph,
but it took longer to get there, (bigger tires are harder to roll!) You can always try the speed calculator here on BGW, it's actually pretty close! (actual gear ratio is 11.8:1, use 11 or 12) http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/speed-calculator.php and to back up scotty... NEVER add extra oil to a lifted cart, it'll start to smoke like he.... ck! What you can do is lower the front of the engine pan with a snubber extention: and I had a bit of a problem with my brake cables being too tight, after installing my Jake's spindles, here's how I resolved that: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/lifte...-brackets.html These are just a "few" things that I've done to my cart! |

Re: lift question
def level out the engine pan. i did it like this with a heim. i did this because of the torque of the 18hp kohler i put in my cart. broke the top snupper plate off the frame. so... this is how i did it.
just another idea |
