Re: clubcar oil light
Any 12 volt lamp should work just fine Nitro, light bulbs can be connected either way around, they are not polarity sensitive. Not sure what the resistor is there for though, my 98 doesn't have one. Check out your FLAPS, odds are good that you will be able to find an almost direct replacement unit that will plug right into your dash. Radio Shack also carries some rectangular, illuminated panel mount lamps.

Re: clubcar oil light
The one wire comes straight from the key switch - it is POS . The other comes from the oil sensor - it is GND when level is low. Dang LEDs and polarity! LOL

Re: clubcar oil light
One other thing to remember Nitro, LED's are polarity sensitive as VZD mentioned. Usually the + side is the longer tail of the two connections so that one will need to be connected to the ignition switch and the other to the oil pressure switch.
Wiki has a pretty good write up, here's a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LED_circuit Chris. |

Re: clubcar oil light
I guess that resistor is to help stop the bulb blowing which might be calamitous and set me to thinking that I might just install a push button on the ground side of the oil light circuit to check that that the darned thing hasn't blown.
