Only run a Autolite 64 plug. Keeps from loading up when going down a hill.

Please explain how that will work ? Do "Autolite plugs" have different parameters than others ? I'm curious. All spark plugs require a set voltage to enable the conductivity across their terminals. How do these "autolites" differ from the "run of the mill" plugs ?

When I cleaned the carb I didn't take it apart but simply sprayed carb cleaner in the intake (took the air tube off) and had the cart jacked up so I did this while it was running. Is the rev limiter located in the black box next to the battery? I believe the throttle cable threads into this box and thought it would be in there. i never adjusted this before or had this area apart.
Just a thought, but the backfire is most likely the gas still pumping into your cylinder when the engine cuts out, then is overloaded with gas when the engine kicks back in. When I was younger my friends and I could make some of our vehicles do this by turning off the key while the vehicle is rolling, then pumping the gas and turning the key back on.

I used that technique to scare the living crap out of people in a railway tunnel back home in England Jason. I think that's what is happening here though; The rev limiter is knocking out the spark but the fuel is still running. When the spark kicks back in, BOOM !

That is pretty much what we were doing when we did it. See someone walking down the sidewalk or go under a train overpass and let her rip.

I think you both are a little twisted, to do such a thing to poor innocent people !
Simply take the old fashioned 4-5" cannon crackers from the early 60s, tie about 4 together and drop them down a manhole cover with men working on a water or sewer line. that will do it, sounds like a muffled c-4 explosion and a guaranteed spanking if Dad got wind of it. But worth it regards Buff

Glad to see you are getting the hang of this forum Buff. Even though you are Canadian you seem to have a sense of humour, clearly not French influenced.
