Default 09 precedent gas starting issue

just picked up a 09 gas at auction and it starts fine in forward and runs fine.It is very hard to start in reverse and if it starts in reverse it stalls and I must move shifter back to neutral then reverse to again start it.It will not stay running in reverse but forward is fine.
any help would be appriciated,Tom

this sounds odd......maybe take a compression reading both directions see how different they are......it might lead in the right direction but most of the time its the other way around they start in reverse but not forward...............

Why would the compression be any different in reverse as opposed to forward ? The engine spins the same way in either case, it's just the transaxle that moves the cart in opposite directions. Are you confusing this with the 2 stroke Robins engine "worn seal" syndrome Tom ?

Most likely the shifter cable is out of adjustment, in which the micro's at the shifter lever aren't activating as they should...

This is for a DS... but, I'm guessing that the Precedent should be pretty close to this!

cris if a crankseal on either the front or rear is going it will change it......never seen it on C.C. but on E.Z. I have seen a 30lb difference between front and rear.......so i would assume it could happen with C.C. ..................was just a thought......anyways it ended up being a shifter cable in the end...........................
