Club Car Going Faster and smoking??!! HELP?!!!!

Hey all...need a little help, my wife was riding our gas operated Club car with a Kawasaki motor in our nieborhood. when she was driving she was going down a hill and let of the gas, as she was going up the hile the cart started going really fast. I came out to see her and when I drove the cart it was FLYING! Like the govener was gone. The cart flies now. When I drove it went really fast, it smoked going up the hills like it was burning oil!?

Can anybody tell me what might be wrong? It still runs but im afraid I might be doing damage to the motor, like I said its like the Govenr was removed...
