Cart Identification Help
I am new to the golf cart world. One of my customers gave me an abandoned cart he had because he didn't want to buy batteries. It looks old but everything I have is old so it will fit right in. I am a tech but never worked on carts. I need some help in identification please. I have been looking around but can't find it listed anywhere, worried it may be to old.
It says it is an E-Z-GO PC4X made by TEXTRON. MFG Code H1686. It had 6 batteries. I need a wiring diagram but am not sure what you call the operating system on it. If it is functional is it worth buying batteries for or should I scrap it and get a newer base vehicle to work with? |

Re: Cart Identification Help
OK, been looking at some similar posts.
It says it is a Cushman/Industrial, PC4X - Electric Personnel Carrier, 1989 model. Need to learn how it works so I can fix it now. |

Re: Cart Identification Help
MFG Code H1686, says it is a 1986 model year.
Do you have the serial Number? If so, enter on the linked website and it may tell you exactly what it is: https://shop.ezgo.com/customer-servi...ialNumber.html If it is an 86, it is probably a resistor drive and if it is an 89, it probably has an electronic speed controller. Pictures of what is under the seat would help identify what drive system it has. |

Re: Cart Identification Help
Thanks,
I entered the serial and it said 89. As old as that is no telling. I am going to haul it over here today, I will give it a looking over and maybe someone can help me ID the system. I remember seeing a large spiral of wire under a cover, is that a resistor? I will get a couple pictures uploaded. |

That is correct. If it has a series of coiled wires, it is a resistor cart. |
