Default 91 EzGo charger circuit board

I just picked up a 91 EzGo marathon that looks in good shape with new Duracell GC-2 batteries. This is my first cart so I'm reading a lot of the posts trying to get up to speed. When I tested the cart before purchasing the charger worked fine. When I got it home it worked for a short while then stopped. Checked the connections and all seemed fine. I bypassed the circuit board with a jumper wire and it started working. Assuming the board was bad I have ordered a new one. Is it bad to use the charger with the board bypassed? I assume it is so I haven't left the charger plugged in for long periods of time but wanted to get some thoughts. I look forward to contributing to the board when I can. Thanks.

Welcome to BGW
Jumped chargers put out 100%.
100% output is used for the 1st or bulk phase of charging. There are at minimum 2 other reduced output phasing to the charge cycle. These reduced amperage cycles finish and level the cells. Leveling is critical to maintaining a healthy pack.
You can charge with just the bulk phase and use the cart while you wait for the new board to arrive. Simply monitor the pack voltage. Keep it below 42v - 44v at any time and charge for no longer than 50-60 min. at a time. Keep the pack above 36v at all times. Bubbling noise from the batteries is okay
