Default State of charge meter and solenoid problems.

I believe my state of charge meter I got on amazon is not accurate. Is there a certain one that anyone would recommend, I have a 96 ezgo txt. Also I have not had any running issues but after prolonged use my solenoid gets fairly hot, any suggestions?

These do so much more than a bar graph

Support a vendor and get a better product!

Heat is a sign of stress you should likely consider a new and larger solenoid as they carry a lot of load...

Agree with Teerco....
Also, excessive heat can come from old wires, corrosion of wires, bad or loose connections.

I have the correct Selnoid from the dealer now so that should solve that. Is there an accurate bar type state of charge meter I can get, would rather it be more like a fuel gauge than a digital read out.

For the uneducated, mount a State Of Charge list next to the digital meter substituting-

"Full" for 100%
" 1/2" for 80%
"Empty" for 60%.

.

You can learn to read a meter just like a fuel gauge and in fact there is a chart that does the math for you. Look in the sticky's...

Kinda wanted the other style for when I let someone in my family borrow it so it's easy

Club Cars only come with a light to tell you the battery is near death... LOL

Even my better half can read the voltage and look at the chart to judge the battery level...

Sorry I know that's not what you want to hear but all I've read here (as well as seen) is how junkie and inaccurate bar graph meters really are...

I purchased a meter from CartsUnlimited and love it. I was only accustomed to the bar graph but this is better. It is accurate and I plan to put a chart with the meter like Tag50 showing the full tank voltage in green, 1/2 tank voltage in yellow and empty voltage in red. This would be simple enough for children to understand :-)

If you have a 36v TXT (didnt say), the stock solenoid "its supposed to have" is painfully undersized.
