Yes, my neighbor ran his cart in F only with the F1 and F2 wires reversed as I suggested for a year before upgrading.
This control has 2 sides. You have lost 1 side. No Problem running on the other half

I just went out and pulled the cover off of the controller because the cart will not run at all.(I was going to switch the wires like Scotty suggested). I found a small white wire had melted and appeared to be shorted to one side of the solenoid. I moved the wire and taped the covering. The cart will not do anything. Now the backup buzzer sounds with the switch in F. I'm at a lost. I thought I would be able to get by for a couple weeks and replace the controller. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Where is this small white wire that got shorted out coming from / going to?

Sorry it comes from under the cart. There is a white and black wire. they plug into the top of the controller.

'under the cart' is not a very specific location. Could they be the throttle sensor wires?

Okay - we now know what killed your controller. The 10g white wire from controller F1 to motor F1 was shorted out. Unfortunately there is no leeway here. A short in F1 or F2 wires will smoke the OEM controller and the DCX control.
Looking forward to helping with your upgrade to XCT400PDS control with reverse polarity protection on the in and outputs.

White 10 gauge with Black 10 gauge on the top left of the controller facing the rear going to the motor would be field wires.. I think you found your issue that was causing the problem. Unfortunately if it melted things it is probably too late and is time for a new controller..

Too slow.. What he said..

Yep - been there & done this myself. Thankfully the newest controls have reverse polarity protection. So this type of loss is now preventable.
