RXV golf cart
I sold my Yamaha cart and was holding out for a EZGO Sport but I just couldn't find one without paying a arm n leg for it.I finally decided I needed a cart and found a nice RXV and should have it this weekend.

Re: RXV golf cart
Too bad there arent enough of "used cars" of the new AC Yamahas in the market yet, they will smoke a stock RXV. we are here to maximize your carting experience, hope you shopped around enough to get a newer "curtis" rxv (2012.5 & newer). Either way, there are points i prefer about both of them.

Re: RXV golf cart
Curtis RXV is the good one, older Danaher controllers did have some issues

Re: RXV golf cart
if you install high speed gears on the curtis one, it will do a weird "rollback" when you come to a stop. i have not figured out how to get it just right, not a big deal for me as i only did gears in one curtis model. keep your batteries & surrounding wires squeaky clean or acid will get in the harness and you will be sad.

Re: RXV golf cart
You nailed it. i cant access those settings like i can on a "fully open, fully unlocked" controller, but those arent available with the terminal for "burn-off resistor", so no-go on a rxv.

Kp Determines how aggressively the speed controller attempts to limit the speed of the motor to Max Speed. Larger values provide tighter control. If Kp is set too high, you may experience oscillations as the controller tries to control speed. Setting Kp too low may result in a top speed much higher than Max Speed. Ki The integral term (Ki) forces zero steady state error, so the motor speed will be limited to Max Speed. Larger values provide faster control. If the gain is set too high, you may experience oscillations as the controller tries to limit speed. If it is set too low, it may take a long time for the motor to approach Max Speed from overspeed. Always start your speed limiter tuning by setting Ki = 0 and adjusting only the Kp terms and Current at Speed. I don't imagine the effects between each of the controls will be too different. If you aren't seeing these perhaps your RPM to Speed value could be adjusted to correct the issue. Again I am referencing the 123X control manual for this KPH to RPM: (G/d)*530.5, where G = gear ratio, d = tire diameter [cm]. MPH to RPM: (G/d)*336.1, where G = gear ratio, d = tire diameter [in]. The default value here looks to be 331, which I estimate would be something close to a 12:1 GR with 13" tires. Can anyone confirm stock vehicle tire size and GR? |
