In my area they put 12 and 14" wheels on them all the time. Have to keep to the ~20" tire diameter rule however. Also they do this on late model TXTs.
I tested them on my 2000 model and they were fine as long as I didn't turn left. Different steering on pre 2001 models.

14" wheels on the one pictured (file photo). Don't know the size of the tires on that one but 225x30x14 is common around here. There are other combinations that work.

I like the looks and I have them on my RXV but you should know the ride is noticeably compromised with these low profile tires.
