Man, that really Sucks! OUCH! To all who say "I wanna be able to lock the motor brake up", I have seen several shattered brake disks from locking the motor brake at speed, so don't bet the farm on that stopping you either. Taking power away from controller is only sure bet. Take all power away, and if the motor brake is destroyed, oh well. Glad you got a good frame guy, you aren't gonna like what you find upon teardown. Good luck on a speedy recovery.

Thank you. I just talked with my buddy that owns the custom body shop. He's coming here tomorrow to drag it up to the roadway. Then we'll trailer it and bring it up to the house and charge the batteries fully before he takes it away. I have it set up with an onboard charger so he'll be able to charge it as needed. His shop is 30 minutes from Pinehurst NC, a huge golfing community where parts carts are more plentiful. A buddy of ours there builds golf courses. He has lots of connections at the golf courses. Hopefully, RXV parts will be easier to get there than they are here.

I think I would be selling parts rather than buying parts for any POS that put me in a tree at full throttle

Gary, I love that switch! My machining equipment has switches like that.

I was suprised that my horn switch in the stock floor location survived the impact. It was directly behind the DS front tire. That tire/wheel took the full impact with the tree and was driven back into the structure behind it. The DS headlight was crushed by the tree, the PS headlight popped out and is hanging by the wires.

I'm really curious now as to what caused that WOT condition. I'll download the logs from the controller and see what I can find out. I may get rid of the RXV when it's done. It's a lot heavier than it needs to be. I want something lighter in weight with a custom chassis and body.

Okay correct me if I am wrong and I know this crowd will but isn't the throttle for the RXV a rotary potentiometer in a fairly well protected environment? If the pedal could move it should work... What happens if it is disconnected while driving perhaps from a wire getting torn loose?

And Bob glad you are okay. Crashes sux and I'm with scottyb, I think I would have my Glock and have a discussion with the cart.

Sorry to hear about this. Hope you a speedy recovery. And please keep us posted on what you find out. I drive my RXV with grandkids and am not a little afraid.

I had just come in from a fairly long drive on winding mountain roads with really tight curves, and the best handling is when I sit centered in the seat. I do the same when I take my dreaded 2Five for a spin.

What type of radioman are you? I started out as a broadcast engineer many decades ago.

My buddy showed up a few hours ago and we managed to drag the RXV back up onto the road and loaded it into his truck to haul back. It's on charge right now. I'll try to get a few more pics before he hauls it away. Tomorrow I'll connect the programmer and download the logs and save them. Maybe I'll get to the bottom of the runaway. Both pedal switches were broken loose from their mounts, throttle and brake. The throttle and brake encoders look ok and pass POST. The stearing still works with limited travel because of the DS side tire hitting. Will post more tomorrow.
