Default Controller/fr switch install, does order matter?

Just got my new alltrax and hd switch from scotty and about ready to start the upgrade. Is there a reason to replace one before the other or could both be done at same time? Guessing I could do switch first, make sure I did that right then over to controller. Limit variables. First cart and first upgrade.

Well, that attempt didn't go well. Nuts rusted and can't get the old switch off yet. Also found out the four cables from the switch to the motor weren't upgraded to 4ga like the rest. My plan was to make due with the 4 ga the previous owner installed until after hunting season when more funds were available. Looks like 2 ga may be on the way soon. Maybe a diy project.

I am correct that regardless of the other cables being upgraded, if the cables to the motor are still 6ga nothing else matters? What could I have done to lose forward? All I did was remove the lever bar while trying to remove the old switch. Once I had difficulty getting the old one off, I reattached the arm in the same position as before until I have more time. Reattached battery cable, fwd gone but rev works.

see diagram, did you loosen nut B? Did you install linkage bar (A or Y) upside down?

I don't think so. I'll check tonight. Hoping to get it out and the new one in

Removed the controller. three of the mounting screws broke off in the plate, 2 of which are in holes I should be using. Plate looks to be corroded towards the bottom. Is this a concern? Any suggestions around the screws? Not going as smoothly as I had originally hoped.

No Worries
Discard the blue mounting adapter and use 4 self tapping 1.5 " screws (slightly away from the broken screw holes)

In confused about wiring. In about to rewire the new control solenoid switch. Reviewing diagrams and pics of how it was before removing old. The diagram in the alltrax manual shows the wire going from B+ on the control to the black/negative side of the solenoid. My pictures and labels before teardown show that wire going to the red/positive side. What am I missing?
