Default solenoid jumper wire guage

I am troubleshooting by club car that is not working. Directions say to bypass the solenoid lockout circuit with a jumper wire to isolate problems. What gauge wire should I use to do this?

I don't know why anybody would install a battery cable when you could just move the controller side cable to the battery side terminal & bolt both cables to the same terminal? Bingo solenoid bypass.

Solenoid lockout circuit is referring to the small wires to the solenoid (& how the OBC can prevent the solenoid from working AKA "lockout") . I don't think this is a job for a battery cable, or a step that is tested on the solenoid large terminals. Wait, I have never seen a OBC on a Ezgo, LOL .

Hello all that tried to help. The reason I asked what size wire I needed (should have mentioned this) was because, like I said I was troubleshooting my cart to see why it won't run. I suspected the solenoid, don't know why. I was reading whatever I can to troubleshoot. Well, I did not read correctly and placed a wire on the neg battery and to the LARGE post of solenoid, I got sparks and a melted wire. Thought I needed a larger wire or something. I did speak to someone on the phone and he corrected me on it. I needed to go to the SMALL clip thing on the solenoid. I don't have 4 posts, I think that is why I put it on the large post. (excuses). Anyway I did it on neg and pos to both clips and got a click noise I was told was a good thing. By the way I am a she and not a he, as someone wrote. Now, everybody is saying ooohh, that's why the mess up. Just kidding I'm not a feminist. Just very close to my daddy who let me work on cars and build things with him. I just want my cart running and my husband does not know a vice grips from a socket wrench. I've moved on and jumped out the key switch, still not running. I am in the process of voltmeter to neg. battery and testing pins. I was told to test #8 forward and reverse, white wire, #6 light blue wire, #9 gray wire, and activate cart on #4 green/white wire. Problem is my #8 is brown and my #6 is green. I did the test on the pin # and then on matching color. I got...#8 brown, 48 volts, on #9 gray, 48 volts. On #6 green, continuity light stays on, but the 48 volt lights do not light up. On grn/white after activation a slight continuity beeps only when touched and let go. Does not stay lit and does not light up 48 volts.( I have a multimeter that has lights and knows DC from AC. Not like the one that has a needle and the dial can be changed.) I am to call the man that gave me this info on Monday and he will direct me from here. If anyone wants to respond or add to this please do. Thanks again Guys or Gals
