Gotcha. You're wanting to connect it without cutting the existing wire. I've seen a method of spreading the strands on the intact cable and weaving the other one into that, but then you're still left with how to cover it. Electrical tape is no good and, in my experience, the liquid stuff needs too many coats to be economical time wise. I believe that method should be soldered too, and you already said you're not into that. Maybe someone else knows something else, but honestly, I think your best move is to cut the wire and use one of the methods already mentioned. Unless, of course, you've got some reason not to.

no just a good one


i cut the existing wire and strip back ¼" then ¼" on the new wire
twist them together and insert into cap and crimp

Like the Buss fuse block
Would be a good safety feature to have for multiple 12V connections.
Good for wire & assories safety
Connections & trouble shooting too
