Default 20.5" Tires on Non-lifted Ezgo txt

Not sure where this post belongs, but I need some help 20.5" tires on a non-lifted txt.

Most sites tell me that 20.5" tires should work on a non-lifted txt. I have a 2007 non-lifted txt and the 20.5 inch tires hit the parking brake lock and they scrub on the rear fenders.

My friend has the IDENTICAL tires on a 2013 txt and they do not scrub or hit anywhere.

Is there a difference in the year models or am I to assume there is an issue with springs on 07 model?

Thoughts?

Taller shackles in the back will solve the fender rubbing. In the front you would just be limited a little with how far you can turn the wheel. Maybe you could fabricate a stop before it rubs.

the most probably reason is that your wheels and your buddies wheels have different offsets. so its not the tires.....its the wheels that are making the difference. the suggestions that impaper suggested above should work just fine

I just put 20s on my TXT and will definitely say they would not have fit if I had not put on new rear leafs.

My rear leafs were so worn out.

I have purchased front leafs but have not put them on...That is next project.

The wheels and tires are identical, I am certain as I sold them to him. Just trying to figure out why so I will know for future.

then most likely its like skips....the springs are "relaxed". go out to your cart and look at the arc of the spring, or are they nearly straight (flat), then look at your buddies cart and compare the two.....I'm sure they don't look the same, and also look at the shackles....they could be different lengths, that too would make a difference.

If your rear leaf springs look like these...Time to change.
