2002 PDS ITS Troubleshooting
I am a golf course superintendent - shade tree mechanic at best. I am working on a 2002 EZGO TXT (PDS). Came in with stripped Input shaft and armature shaft. Replaced both and installed the rear assembly.
Initial pedal movement has a positive response. Slightly less than full pedal and the motor shuts WAY down (slows) equaling very little power (speed). This power loss event is sudden. To get full speed again I must cycle the TOW-RUN switch. However, pedal movement and a couple seconds and the i get the same event. I have the ITS diagnostic sheet; but -- could I get clarification on "Install a "jumper wire" between the batteries BL+ post and the solenoid post with red wires attached." I assume BL+ is "battery last +"; and the "red wires" is the low amp side of the solenoid; please confirm. In addition, the Curtis controller 73326G05, does NOT have a "6 pin" connector. So I am lost as how to do the rest of the diagnostic test. Note: this cart came in with a loss of power problem. The owner had manipulate (let off - press) the pedal to reset/gain power. Is this a controller fault? - your best guess. Thankyou. K |

Re: 2002 PDS ITS Troubleshooting
Just found out that BEFORE the splines were stripped, the cart would loss all power and beep would sound. Driver would have to release pedal, come to complete stop...then mash pedal to go again.
They disregarded this as a "safety feature" only.... |

Put the cart in diagnostic mode and see what the code he was ignoring is.

Re: 2002 PDS ITS Troubleshooting
Wow. I did not look closely at the cover label. Rookie mistake.
After diagnostic mode set (4 beeps)..I got speed senor fault once under NO Load, and every time under Load (I assume the vehicle on jacks and running is "load"). 1 beep - 3 beeps. The cannon-plug connection is good. The sensor is somewhat loose behind the snap ring. Is this the check "magnet/torque" the action is speaking of? Is there a magnet required under the sensor on this 2002 TXT PDS? Last edited by Kenny311; 02-22-2017 at 05:28 PM.. Reason: addition |

Re: 2002 PDS ITS Troubleshooting
Probably just best to replace the speed sensor

Re: 2002 PDS ITS Troubleshooting
You guys have a great history of past threads - once a guy knows what to search for. Thank you for the diagnostic info. I searched "speed senor" on bam...I did NOT see the magnet and extra snap ring on the old motor.
Put it on the new motor - opl ck good. Thanks! |
