Default Lug socket for 12" fairway wheels

Hey guys, in the process of trying to figure out why my drivers side back tire sounds like a squeeky ratchet when driving. It's either the brake or the bearing I just need to get the wheel off to inspect, and there lies my problem.

Bought cart with wheels on and it looks like they have a special lug on them that a standard 11/16 sock or metric will not fit. Any ideas on where I might find such a socket? The wheels are 12" by "fairway" and look like this.

well its hard to tell.....since you didn't buy the wheels, the lugs could be any other brand, BUT that looks like its what you want. from the picture, they look like typical "tuner lugs", of which many have a special socket for them.

Can't you contact the person/shop where you got the cart and ask them if they have the socket (key) or at least the brand of the lugs? its a place to start.

seems to me....crash has the answer.....all you will need to do is count the splines on your lugs and there ya go!

CTD has the answers to all of my questions I sure do appreciate it brotha!
The lug has 6 splines so I'm assuming it would be the second socket in the picture the small 6 spline.
Would this be available at local Sears or parts store? O'reilly acted like I was speaking Spanish when I asked if they had one.

Thanks

I had same issue with my Fairway wheels. It is a 6 spline small diameter lug nut. I ordered the socket pictured above from Fairway and it works. I also found one on Amazon for about $6 and I purchased as a spare for the tool kit. The one sold by Fairway is much better quality and less likely to round off with an impact driver.

Initially I was going to replace the lug nuts with standard lug nuts, but it seems standard lug nuts are too wide in diameter to fit into my Fairway wheels.

Part came in and fits all lugs on my wheels! Time to find out if I have a bad bearing or break hub

brake hub

had to get a thin wall ¾" socket for my mags
you might have to use 5/8" lug nuts
