I just hooked up 2 more 6v batteries to my circuit now I have 48v my motor already is 36/48v same as controller I think ok so my question is how can I charge my 48v battery pack with a 36v charger and another question is is my 36v heavy duty solenoid going to be ok or do I need a 48v solenoid

If you are doing it right, you need a 48v charger. Solenoid is cheap insurance. Replace it with a heavy duty 48v unit

you need to get a 48v charger.....your current one isn't going to work.

if you have the 400 amp Super Duty solenoid, its fine.....BUT......is your cart a SEPEX drive or a SERIES? because if your drive system is a SERIES drive, you will need to get different Pre-charge Resistor and Diode. (for a 48v set-up you need a 470 ohm Pre-Charge Resistor and a 3 amp Diode)

See attached for wiring instruction that will allow use of a 36v solenoid in a 48v system.
Member Gornoman used a 36v and a 12v charger on his 8/6v pack for about a year before making the 48v DPI purchase. While not the best option for the pack it can be done.
