Default 2014 RXV Brake will not release

New to me 2014 RXV, purchased less than a month ago. Cart was completely refurbed, only thing not new are the batteries (less than 3 years old) Been in the garage for about a week now, and when I tried to prep it to haul to the camp tomorrow the brakes would not release. Even did the manual release via the instructions on the underside of the run/tow plastic cover. Any ideas how I can get this fixed in time to drag to the camp in the morning? Parents are there through Thanksgiving and were looking forward to having my cart to ride around on all week. Thanks in advance for any pointers!

Have you done any trouble shooting yet?
What is the pack volts reading?
Any clicking noises?
Have you had it on the charger?
Is the run/tow switch in run mode?
Was it in tow mode when you tried to manually unlock the brake?

After doing a little research I saw all the other member's posts about the same issue. Fully charged, clicking, etc. so I knew it was the brake. Loosened the bolts to the break to manually release it, rolled it a few feet, then tightened them back up. Works fine now. I'll be looking for some sort of brake upgrade or something when I get back because physically taking the brake off to get the thing to release is for the birds...Appreciate the response though!

The reason I did not respond earlier is that you did not mention what you did to prepare the RXV for the outing. Carts in general do not respond well to water getting splashed into harness connectors and electronics. RXVs are even more prone to water getting into encoders for the throttle, brake, and switches associated with these pedals. There are a slew of inputs/outputs on the RXV that can be affected by moisture. They are high impedance, therefore, microamps of leakage current are important. Dry the electronics and harness connectors with a hair dryer and see if that helps. The pedal encoders and switches are under the floor mat and pedal cover. Not so easy on the RXV, the rocker panels need to be removed to get the floor mat and pedal cover off. Christmas tree fasteners and Torx bits are used.

On another note... I see that you put your location as Alabama? Humidity has been known to cause corrosion on the semi-metallic brake disc and steel plate in the brake. You can try cleaning it up and reassembling. The factory brake used in the 2014 is much better than the older RXV brakes. If all else fails, get back to us. Try the brake release procedure on the label under the controller cover that the Run/Tow switch attaches to. If that procedure works, the brake could be OK. That does not check brake coil impedance, but it does test mechanical aspects of the brake. The coil impedance specification is 25.5 ohms. Too low or too high will fail the powerup test.

If it's working now, that's indicative of the corrosion issue between the disc and the metal plate. It will keep happening in a very humid environment. You cannot apply a lubricant without affecting operation. Just be aware of it.
