Re: Trailer hitch help
I decided to build the hitch, well, because I just wanted to. lol
It was my first time welding and I built it on the cart so it wasn't optimal conditions for someone who didn't know what they were doing. I stood on it and pulled mt 5'x10' trailer do the road and back and it still on there. If I had it to do again, I might would place it farther back so the ball wouldn't stick out so far. |

Re: Trailer hitch help
Drill another hole in the slide in and move it back some.

Re: Trailer hitch help
They are different. I've had customers bring in one of those and ask us to mount it because they couldn't get it to fit. I've added flat plate or square stock to make up the distance difference on some of them.

Re: Trailer hitch help
I agree with drilling a second position hole. However, I like the way you currently have it because when your in a situation where your backing up a trailer, the "longer" hitch will allow you to make steeper angles before the trailer "jackknives" into your cart.

Re: Trailer hitch help
For my unlifted cart with stock tires, I'd have to rotate it 90° or remove it, to tackle my driveway, as well as a few others.

Re: Trailer hitch help
You can always get a second slide in and cut it down and drill a new hole and that way you can use which ever one you need at the time.
