club car 48-12v factory reducer?
hey guys, quick question. i'm fixin to put some lights on a 48v IQ. i just put brand new trojans in it and want to run off the whole pack. i almost ordered one off ebay, but i called my wifes uncle who works at the main CC outfit near us instead. he said he has a brand new factory CC one at his house he would hook me up with. he wont be home until tomorrow and i didnt ask him.... just wondering what to expect from the factory CC reducer? does anyone know if its 10a or is it 25-30a? i dont much care, all i want is lights. thanks in advance.

Re: club car 48-12v factory reducer?
Well, The CC factory reducer does not draw off of the whole pack. It draws off of 2 batteries under the drivers butt..it is a 16v to 12v reducer. Some respected CC Techs say this works good others say those batteries die first.... still other Charger Manufactures claim the imbalance this creates shortens the life of the whole pack.....SO if you are looking for the best possible solution, steer clear of cheap eBay reducers and get a 20amp minimum 48 to 12v reducer with an on/off hook up.....just thought you would like to know.

ok thanks scottyb. i dont want 16-12 at all.
i asked him if it ran off the whole pack, he said it did (but he was busy, maybe he was confused) ..actually all he said was "yes, its the good one" lol. hopefully it is a 48-12, 25amp and just isnt factory. i'll check it out tomorrow i guess. thanks again. |

Re: club car 48-12v factory reducer?
Scotty, Club Car does make one for this application...... They have 2 models.... a 16-12 and a 48-12........ the 48-12 model is 16 amps. Works great. I use it on every stereo install I do. The part number for the one you're wanting is 102357501. Hope this helps!

Re: club car 48-12v factory reducer?
it was a 16-12.
guess i'll just get one from somewhere online and be done with it. i see the 25-30 amp models for 120-140$. kinda pricey just to run some lights, is it worth it or should i just go with 10 amps? do they figure it at peak amps or continuous duty? i found this one at one of the site sponsors, anybody have an opinion on it? http://www.mississippigolfcart.com/s...Reducer/Detail here is another from a site sponsor, which one of the two would be preferred? http://www.everythingcarts.com/p-115...2v-10-amp.aspx and heres one from a non sponsor, says 10-25amps peak. not sure what i need to order here. http://cgi.ebay.com/GOLF-CART-VOLTAG...ht_3694wt_1141 |

Re: club car 48-12v factory reducer?
I ordered this one today from a site sponsor. i called before i ordered, the guys said it was 18a continuous, not peak. idk, but all i'm running is some headlights so i think it should suffice.
