Default Stock Motor HP ?

Whats the stock horse power of the different E-Z-GO carts ?

As most of you know I have a '05 PDS, but I'm curiuos about the others 2001 and later models (fleet, freedom, ect) also. I figure they are all in the 2.75 to 3 range, but I've seen aftermarket motors up to 8.5 hp's.

I am new at this but to my limited knowledge you are correct the stock range is in the neighbor hood of 3 HP. You can upgrade the motors/controllers to 6/9 HP at 36/48 volts in various torques and RPM combinations depending if your objective is to climb a tree (torque) or speed/pass (RPM) by granpa

Stock ezgo motor is 2.0hp. The upgraded version - the one that came with the Freedom carts is rated at 2.75. These are non peak HP numbers - and I believe what is considered a 30 minute number.

For instance - the Freedom motor is 2.75hp non peak at 36 volts. At 48 volts and 500 amps - you may see that jump to 10hp peak.

My 92 XI-500 EZGO 36v has an GE motor with 2800 RPM on the motor tag, 400 Amp controller and when a dealer heard that he told me it was a 2.5 horsepower. There must be a formula using volts and RPM to determine horsepower.

There are two ways to determine electric motor horsepower:

HP = (E * I * Eff)/746

or

HP = (RPM * T)/5252

Where:
HP = Horse Power
E = Voltage
I = Current measured in amps
Eff = effeciency
746 = number of watts that equal 1 HP
RPM = Revolutions per minute
T = Torque
5252 = constant
