Curious if you can swap another top end on (if a rebuild becomes necessary) and have yourself the standard engine.

But having the "oddball" is something i've always enjoyed. Searching for parts and replacements and keeping it looking good and running well is half the fun!

With the retiree filled neighborhood I live in, i can't wait to drive my young *** to the clubhouse in a cart they'll remember using when they were younger.
I am sure that the carts are the same save for the jug so you are good. Not sure about the replacement but I can't see why it would be a problem to put the common style on there should you ever have to.

Thanks! And that’s before the re-paint.

Sweet cart! the 82's aren't bad and you can swap out the top end if desired. good little engine once tuned up properly.

I have 2 82 engines as spares both need different things. the 82 also has the weird exhaust. Ive seen 2 versions of it. One with the butterfly and one without it. Guessing the one without it was the early version.

My 84 was free and to me was a diamond in the rough. homemade lift kit and someone cut the front cowl and installed headlights. Looked good but the florida weather took its toll. So I replaced it and did a spray bomb paint job.
If you look you'll see a few out there with headlights in the cowl but no idea what they used to make them.

After replacing the crank seals, carb and used starter/gen she fired right up and has been the neighborhood cruiser.

Already printed and bound the repair manual hahaha. I’m that guy.

Here’s a question: is there a way to know if your crank seals need done?

I ask because the owner I am buying from is definitely not the “handy” type. Didn’t seem to really know what was going on with the cart except that the previous owner replaced the carb. So now, I’m curious if maybe that same owner replaced the seals as well.
