Default 36volt motor in 48volt cart.

Sorry if this has been asked, I tried searching as much as possible. I have a 2009 48 volt club car and my neighbor has a spare 36 volt motor laying around.

My question is, since my motor has a speed sensor on it do I have to find a 36volt motor with a speed sensor? Or can I put this motor in and leave the speed sensor disconnected?

You probably have a Sepex motor and his is probably a series motor. That won’t work. What cart do you have?

What drive system? Pretty sure there were no series drives in ‘09.

Yes, except for some carry-alls. It would definitely be a sepex drive system. IQ or I2.
