Oh btw, when I had them all off it would not go forward but would go reverse. That one 10 gauge(?) black wire on the end negative makes the cart go forward. Anyone have thoughts on that?

after charging and sitting a few hours I could tell the new "100%" is going to be 50.7-50.9 on the gauge and 50.5-50.7 at the pack with multimeter. That's after watering the batteries and charged. It was 51.4-51.6 with multimeter on pack before watering. The gauge seems to not be going down now with the key on after removing all those wires from the batteries. I want to take it down to 50% or 48.4 once to make the batteries and charging more normal and consistent. I found I always need to do that after watering or it won't charge right. That's with a 36V and lester charger. This 48V and delta q charger acted like it charged normally after watering, but still.
I want to find out exactly what wire it was that made it go down with the key and drive it on the road downhill to see if I really might have regen. If this new gauge really does now indicate pack volts, that will be awesome, and sure make it a lot easier to monitor. I think I'll add a switch for the meter because at night they blind me and maybe also a switch for all lights for when I take it on the road or at night.

last post was actually 2 hrs ago and I forgot to hit post.
It does appear to be regen and Walter was right! I took it on the road to a good hill and let off and it went to 54V and stayed. It varies though based on how much I push the accelerator.
I found the wire that draws on the batteries with the key on. It's the wire that I assume goes to a relay which powers all the lights. I'll need to trace that down later but for now it's disconnected.
After that trip to the hill, up then down and back and sat for 15-30 min with the key on it was 50.7V and stable and the same with the key off.
