Default Low buck 48v on with used oem controller?

Hey folks.... I have a 95 medalist... 36v series cart...
On a tight budget but having trouble getting up the STEEP hill in my back yard....

It just has enough power now but w stock tires it must be completely dry but add just a little rain and I'm winching it w my jeep.... also have trouble getting across the dry creek due to clearance

I've ordered some 19x7x8 tires (stock measure 16" actual) and a cheap lift kit but concerened that it won't have enough power w the bigger tires....

I'm running 3 new 115 amp hr 12v batts and considered adding a 4th and a boost button but wondered if I could snag a used 48v stock controller and go that route...

Not looking for max speed, just a little more....

The other option is to probably just flip it for a proffit and pick up one of those evil gas carts but I was really hoping the e cart could do what I need.

I have @$750 in it so far. $150 cart, $300 batts, $200 tires, $100 lift kit.... trying to keep it under $1000

The pic doesn't come close to doing the hill justice...
It's a workout to walk up...

Also, IF a stock controller would work what year(s) or model(s) should I be looking for?

All the stock controllers for those carts are all 36v, not 48v. And, sounds like you got scammed into buying some garbage Walmart trolling motor batteries (which will be a problem soon enough, by then you will have learned to not "skimp on the batteries", which is just like burning $100 bills)

Well actually I got the batts I wanted...
No scamming involved.... they'll do what I want for now and I can use em elsewhere later on if I want...
So far, w higher than average use (for me), in 3 days I draw em down to about 60% charge but generally charge each night w a 6 amp slow charger...
If they do die an early death, I'll warranty them and use em for my trolling motor....

I get that the stock controllers "for those carts" are 36v.... I'm asking about controllers for different carts that might be 48v that I could swap in for less than the cost of a performance controller....

I'm not afraid to do custom wiring and fabrication as needed

Now if what you're saying is that no company ever sold a series wound cart with a controller that could handle 48v then yeah it would be a dead end...

Thanks for taking the time to reply...

Lift and tires.... yeah and bbq parts lol

Hope I don't regret a 6" lift w 19" tires but wanted the clearance under the drop axle....
I spose I can always move the springs back to the bottom of the beam and shorten the rear spacers if it looks stupid....

Well there are 48v clubcar series controllers that use 0-5k throttle which would work with your cart (and bolt right up with all connectors in the same spots. Might wanna go poke around in the club car section & ask about a used controller with 0-5k throttle.

This cart has ITS throttle. He would have to find a used aftermarket control with multiple throttle selection like Alltrax AXE or SPM

Interesting....

If the throttle was incompatible it would seem that the easy solution is to change it also...

Oops, I misread, I thought (for some reason) it was a marathon. My mistake.

You could, but the easiest way would be mounting new throttle box underneath cart, not a great place for it to live for 2 reasons

1- easily damaged by rocks & debris
2- my marathon went "full throttle" once when it got good & wet.

Maybe run a cable & remote mount it like par-car did.
