Welcome.
What year model is the cart?
do you have spark?
Do you have compression?
Is the plug wet after trying to start several times?

What grade? Check your spelling mister! (in a voice my mom uses)
Pictures will help because 89 is a G2 cart and is a 4 cycle engine, crankcase with oil in it.
G1 has a 2 cycle engine that mixes gas and oil.

Your engine have a dipstick to check oil?

Did you check out Ribs post and try to determine what year cart you have?
You really need to use the search option on here for any info on a Yamaha G1 cart, that is what you have.
Learn all you can about your cart, what makes it run, how it operates and it will all come to you.
You need to do some leg work (homework) here and then we can help, not to maney people want to, or have time to do the leg work for ya.
