Lockman after reading that thread, I believe that my problem may be a worn bumper. I will replace that and see if that solves my problem. Thank you for your help.

Parts aren't here yet. I'll be reporting just as soon as they come in and are installed though!

1997-1999 36 and 48 volt motors take Giude Ring CC #101789101, Retaining Ring CC #101822801, and Adhesive CC#101813202. ( NOTE I ADD LUB CC #102243403.)
ALL 2000-2005 DS and Precedent from 2004-2007 all show same parts listed. DRIVE BUMPER CC #102235201, Lub CC #102243403.
I am sure that Club Car produced two model DS's in 2000. The parts listed above are for 2000.5 - 2005. I have a 2000 DS with Parts Manual 102067401 and Maintenance Manual 102067505 and the bumper ring is not shown or mentioned in either. In addition mine has a V-Glide and not a MICOR shown in the above parts list.

Not to knock any cart manufacturers but I find LOTS of earlier and later models of all CC years using some advanced ( according to part numbers ) and some older parts right from factory? My own 1996 CC ( very early serial number ) has later model throttle pedal ( used on 1998 and up ) and came from factory this way? its like Chrysler Corp did in the pre 1990's as you could find parts that must have come out of the back of warehouse that were for 1970's-1980's cars?

My 1998 Club Car has a noise (knock?) that seems to go away when I coast. Is there an easy way to isolate for sure if its the motor or differential or? I just bought the cart and it looks like it has had a lot of use. It came with a set of bigger tires (10 inch) that are pretty well worn. It was sold it to me with the original tires on the cart. They look like they have had some use as well. My old 1988 Yamaha gasser has the original tires and does not have half the wear as the Club Car tires show. There is one other question. There is a switch to the left of the charge meter that does not show in the owners manual I copied from the internet. Its red plastic and pushing it in either position does not seem to anything.
