Default EZGO TXT Rear Leaf Spring Front Mounts?

New HD leaf springs with new bushings. Seems there is too much space between the bushing and the frame mount points. Probably 3/16" per side if I center things up. I don't recall there being anything more to these and the parts manual doesn't seem to point to anything either?

Any concern here?

Thanks,

Pat Arnold

Giving myself a bump here! Is the spacing between the bushing and the frame mount for the leaf spring end normal? I can't imagine tightening that nut up enough to compensate for the gaps that exist. Ditto for the passenger side.

Wow. That is quite a bit of slop! I'd use washers on either side to center it up. Are the new springs more narrow than the originals?

I'm more into electrical stuff than body/frame/steering/suspension stuff, but that looks a bit strange to me also.

Since the distance between the left and right side of the bracket is fixed by the length of the shoulder bolt, I guess it is normal to have a gap.

Personally, I might add a couple nylon fender washers to keep the rubber bushing from oozing out of the spring and supporting it less.

Yep! That's not right. It looks like they may have sent you the wrong springs?
Do you have the old ones? If so, measure the width of the old vs. the new and let the vendor know.
I dont see any long term issues with using a washer/shim to take up the space if you decide to keep them.

Okay, thanks for the response gentlemen. I do have the original springs and the width is the same as my new ones.

I think a couple of nylon washers would probably do the trick. Alternatively, I may be able to safely squeeze/bend in the mounting points just slightly to close the distance.

Appreciate your thoughts!
