Where do I find such a solenoid? in the photo I have removed the wire to the starter motor. BTW I really want to thank you guys for this off golf cart help.
A quick Google search for 12V solenoids with various amp ratings yielded.

12V - 500A: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...1-dc3240e894a8

12V - 1000A: https://marinepartssource.com/soleno...-1000amp-sw865

12V - 1500A: https://www.baxters.com.au/products/...0-amp-int.html

Marine applications use high amp 12V solenoids. So do wenches.

oops Just noticed a typo in my previous post - should've read 500A or 1000A instead of 500A or 100A.

JB I had to think about this for a minute.

I think I know what you meant.

Thanks guys
here is some trivia from my past back in the USAF when almost all cars had 6 volt batteries.
I was in northern Maine where the temps dip down to 20 or more below zero
I bought a special solenoid from JC Whitney that connected two 6 volt batteries in series to 12v to start and then drop back to parallel 6V to run, so I could start my 53 Merc. Flathead in that weather

When you mount the new solenoid, make sure that negative ground connection is in direct contact with a clean chassis location and not on top of the solenoid base.

The battery side of the solenoid should have the main cable first and the other smaller gauge wires on top.

Clean both sides of all ring connectors, use a file or sand paper if needed and don't put anything in the connectors prior to assembly.

After everything is assembled spray terminal protector or use another anti-oxidant like NO-OX-ID as there is a lot of corrosion everywhere on that solenoid.

I had a plastic protector over those electrical parts but due to that solenoid/solenoids sticking we had to have access to tap it to make it release the starter from running after the engine started. If you have never had that happen it is a very loud and sceaming noise, almost as if something was about to explode..
