Default G2 won't start

I have a G2 that when I came to a stop it would not fire up when I tried to continue. . I had to tow it back to the house. It turns over when I depress the pedal but does not fire. I am not getting any spark. Is there a way to check the igniter?

Not really, other than swapping it out.

Make sure with the pedal depressed the ignitor is getting power on the red/white wire. It is also worth checking the resistance of the ignition coil to make sure it has not gone bad.

If the ignitor has taken a dump on you, stay away from the aftermarket ones. They're complete junk. Best bet is to get an OEM ignitor (big $$$ unless you can find someone on here that has removed one when they did a clone swap). OR search my threads and for about $30 in parts you can use a chrysler ignition module, available at any auto parts store (they usually keep them in stock) and works great.

I defiantly have no spark. What should the resistance on the ignition coil read? I believe it is a red/white and an orange wire.

Orange wire terminal on coil reads short to ground zero resistance.

Extract from maintenance manual:
  1. Ignition coil resistance
  2. Pickup coil resistance

That sounds about where it should be. 18.3 is a little high but depending how much dirt is between your meter lead and the inside where the spark plug connects, doesn't draw a red flag.

See this post. Ultimately I was fighting a no spark in my G9, so I spent $30 at O'Reilly and it has run great ever since. Spark was never an issue again, plus it has a lifetime warranty :) http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...ml#post1498533

That look simple enough, I was reading over the other post on this also. You explanation made things a little clear and I have an O'Reilly's 3 miles from the house

The last time mine turned over and wouldn't start I had a stuck valve and the rocker came off the rod. Simple fix once you know what it is.
