97 ez go txt wont reverse?

Hi all,

I just purchased the cart listed above from a fellow deer lease member. Brought it home and did all the routine maintenace. Found out the reverse linkage was broken and replaced that today. Ive got a floor jack under the driver side rear wheel. When i run it only the left rear wheel spins. Not the right. When testing out my new linkage I see the clutch doesnt change direction when pressing the gas pedal....it continues to spin in a forward motion.

First question is, should only the driver side wheel be powering the cart?

Second question, why is the clutch not spinning in reverse when I select reverse?

Swampa,

The clutches will spin the same direction in forward and reverse. Question is, did the tire spin in reverse ?

Everything you are describing is normal for a 4 stroke golf cart motor. Drop it down and go for a ride!

I'm ready and willing, but I'm waiting on my new tires to get delivered! The ones on it are complete junk. I'll post a pic after I get them.
